it's been a while..

well it happened. despite setting out to avoid leaving large gaps between updates, i have been away for far too long.


but.. at the risk of making shoddy excuses, i was rather busy in my absence. the second year of my degree has come and gone and it was a rather stressful lead up to the climax. 


the assessment and show were not quite what i had hoped for, but i felt i ought to perhaps document it in some way. i took a couple of bad quality photos of my installation, a small and delicate piece made of tissue paper.

the idea was to create a fragile tissue paper patchwork quilt covered in line drawings of close family members. the images i worked from were mostly photos taken on family holidays when i was very small. 


i suppose it was a bit of an homage to my nan's excellent sewing skills but it fell a little flat. i think i'll continue adding to it over the summer and hopefully the increase in the overall size of the quilt will make it a bit more successful. here's hoping.
