i always wanted to be on the radio..

it's true, i did.

then i saw a competition poppytalk were having where you had to create your own 'mixtape' using 8tracks.com. what a great idea. kudos to poppytalk for an imaginative and fun competition and for introducing me to a site i could lose hours on. you can browse by artist or track name and it brings up all the mixes people have made including your search. the best part is getting all the introductions to new music that comes with listening to the whole 'mixtape'. of course, you can always be a magpie like me and just

pick a mix solely on the basis of being attracted by their cover picture. you'd be surprised at the success rate that comes with that method.

so all those times when i've sat there feeling disillusioned with mainstream radio, thinking how i could do such a great job with my stellar music taste.. well, i feel satisfied.
